OverviewGENERAL SUMMARY OF POSITIONUnder the direct supervision of the Department Administrator or designee, the Research Laboratory Aide II performs routine laboratory cleaning and other general laboratory duties in support of research experiments.
ResponsibilitiesMAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES Collect, wash, and autoclave glassware, pipets, and miscellaneous laboratory supplies and return them to the appropriate laboratories Order general laboratory supplies and maintain inventory Maintain general cleanliness of the laboratory and monitor glassware washing equipment Maintain cleanliness of the lunch and seminar rooms Collect, wash, and return lab coats to the appropriate laboratories Perform basic library reference searches Enter data into the department and/or the Umass Medical School accounting system Comply with all safety and infection control standards appropriate to this position Perform other duties as required QualificationsREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS High school diploma or equivalent experience Must be capable of following and mastering detailed written instructions Demonstrated ability to enter data into computer programs SUPERVISION RECEIVEDUnder the direct supervision of the Department Administrator or designeeSUPERVISION EXERCISEDNoneENVIRONMENTAL WORKING CONDITIONSWet chemistry laboratory, and may require appropriate contact with biohazards, radionuclides, toxins, animals, and human specimens.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
