Associate Dean - Forsyth School of Dental Hygiene

The Forsyth School of Dental Hygiene (FSDH) seeks an Associate Dean to oversee the FSDH dental hygiene program on the Worcester, MA campus.
The Associate Dean reports to the Dean of the FSDH, who is based on the Boston, MA campus, and meets with the Dean on a weekly basis.
The position of Associate Dean in Worcester (AD-W) is a dual faculty/administrative role which requires collaboration with the FSDH leadership team, i.
e.
, the Associate Dean for Clinical Studies and the Dean of the FSDH.
The AD-W assigns faculty teaching responsibilities in consultation with leadership team, and assists in planning the classroom and lab use in collaboration with University staff.
In addition, the AD-W provides assistance and advice in the areas of school planning, decision-making, and operations, and is responsible for assisting with hiring, orienting, supervising, and evaluating school adjunct faculty.
The AD-W participates in strategic planning and operational activities, and is responsible for managing and implementing the operational budget for the Worcester campus.
The AD-W also makes recommendations for needed educational resources for the Worcester campus to the Dean.
The AD-W performs teaching and scholarship appropriate to the rank of Associate Professor/Professor, and is also responsible for adherence to CODA accreditation standards and the Massachusetts Board of Dentistry (BORID) regulations.
Responsible for teaching 14 semester hours of academic courses at the graduate or undergraduate level, subject to institutional need.
Specific teaching responsibilities will be assigned by the Dean.
Advises and assists students and faculty through office hours or scheduled appointments, by phone or email, and through other University-approved mechanisms.
Maintains involvement in research or scholarly activity commensurate with academic rank, and generates scholarly work such as peer-reviewed publications and presentations.
Research and scholarly activity should contribute to the development and enrichment of teaching and other activities at the University.
Supports incorporation of diversity, equity and inclusion into the curriculum, as well as co-curricular experiences, to broaden the education of students and expand their knowledge of health disparities.
Participates in service activities; serves on committees; serve on regional, state, or national organization committees and volunteer activities; represent the program and University in/at community functions; attends School and institutional activities such as Commencement and ceremonies; and supports student activities such as health fairs and service projects.
Uses the University's learning management system to post syllabus, assignments and other materials and to communicate with students.
Provide service including student mentoring, ongoing course development, and assessment.
Contribute to periodic reviews and revisions of departmental course offerings.
Provide requested accreditation related program data pertaining to teaching responsibilities and administrative roles Maintains advanced knowledge in discipline and areas of expertise.
Builds and maintains relationships with professional organizations involved with the healthcare sector.
Additional responsibilities may be assigned by the Dean.
Doctoral degree preferred; Master's degree candidates considered based on work experience Previous experience as program director in dental hygiene program preferred Minimum of 5 years of full time work experience as faculty in dental hygiene education Minimum of 1-2 years of administrative experience in college/university level Minimum of 5 years clinical practice experience as dental hygienist Minimum of 3-5 years clinical teaching in dental hygiene education with experience supervising clinical teaching teams Evidence of continuing education in the area of educational methodology Eligibility for Local Anesthesia permit and Dental Hygiene license in MA Commitment to undergraduate, graduate and/or professional education and student success Excellent organizational and communication skills Demonstrated commitment to valuing diversity and contributing to an inclusive working and learning environment Experience teaching in graduate dental hygiene education Experience with managing/assessing compliance with CODA standards in dental hygiene education Must be able to work independently and effectively interact with a wide array of parties at all levels (students, faculty, administration/staff, alumni, and external constituents, including healthcare industry professionals) Record of scholarly activities commensurate with an academic appointment Evidence of teaching excellence Experience teaching in remote setting with use of virtual platforms in delivery of course contentPhysical Requirements:

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
