Adjunct Faculty - School of Nursing

The School of Nursing seeks an adjunct faculty member to deliver high quality learning experiences and education for students.
In accordance with the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Nursing and New Hampshire Board of Nursing, the Adjunct Faculty of the School of Nursing fosters the development of required nursing skill competency, critical thinking ability and application of nursing knowledge to practice.
Delivers didactic, laboratory and/or experiential instruction via multiple formats (in-person, online, or in a 'blended' format)Provides students with an approved syllabus that includes course objectives and learning outcomes, teaching methodology, attendance policies in line with those of the School, texts and readings, assignments and deliverables, timelines and evaluation criteriaProvides engaging assignments that demonstrate the real-world applications of concepts coveredSupports incorporation of diversity, equity and inclusion into the curriculum, as well as co-curricular experiences, to broaden the education of students and expand their knowledge of health disparitiesUses the University's learning management system to post syllabus, assignments and other materials and to communicate with studentsAdvises and assists students through office hours or scheduled appointments, by videoconference, phone or email, and through other University-approved mechanismsProvides service including student mentoring, ongoing course development, and assessmentDemonstrates knowledge of subject matter and an awareness of new developments in the field in order to update the approach to teaching or contentFacilitates pre- and post-conference for assigned studentsIntegrates didactic content into the clinical assignment for the student(s)Achieves consistently effective teaching performance as evidenced by student evaluations/comments/lettersRecognizes and addresses different learning styles in collaboration with core facultyCommunicates with core faculty on a regular basis to track student progress or to develop performance improvement plan to support student learningIn collaboration with core faculty, develops individualized interventions for students having difficultyCollaborates with laboratory faculty to support student remediationResponsible for conducting the clinical evaluation in collaboration with core faculty who has ultimate responsibility for student evaluationProvides feedback to core faculty and clinical placement coordinator on the appropriateness of health care agency regarding teaching/learning environment for studentsProvides feedback to core faculty on student preparedness regarding core curriculum and MCPHS core competenciesHas a working knowledge of the MCPHS SON curriculum and the level of the participating studentsAttend course-specific orientation on campus with core facultyParticipate in clinical faculty mentoring as identified by core course facultyAdditional responsibilities may be assigned by the supervisorRequired:
A minimum of a master's degree in nursing required Must be current in professional practice with a minimum of two years of current nursing practice experience within the last five yearsCurrent RN licensure (or eligibility) in Massachusetts or New HampshireApplicant must be in good standing with respective nursing boardCertification in specialty as appropriateNursing education experience at the baccalaureate levelExcellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skillsAttentive to detailAbility to work effectively within a dynamic team and in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environmentDemonstrated commitment to valuing diversity and contributing to an inclusive working and learning environmentCommitment to undergraduate and/or professional education and student successAbility to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlinesMassachusetts-based faculty must have a working knowledge of Massachusetts Board of Registration in Nursing 244 CMR 6.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
