Education Coordinator (BWSP)

Overview:
The Upward Bound Program, federally funded (a program that is represented nation-wide), is designed to help first generation/low income high school students attend and succeed in post-secondary education.
The Education Coordinator helps the Director with daily program management, overseeing after school tutoring, Saturday Sessions, and summer programming.
This is a position that allows for autonomy in leadership, support in growth, fun in a flexible way while doing quality work with youth.
Responsibilities:
The Education Coordinator helps the Director with daily program management, overseeing after school, Saturday, and summer programming.
The academic year component consists of oversight of:
weekly afterschool tutoring and workshops; weekly Saturday classes, workshops, and fieldtrips; Collection and assessment of quarterly grades which is used to ensure scholars receive appropriate tutoring and academic assistance; some over nights throughout the school year.
The summer component consists of:
planning all programming; hiring, training, and supervising all summer staff; outreach and management of summer internships; over nights throughout the year and during the six week summer component for program over sight.
Qualifications:
Knowledge of educational/societal needs of the population and issues related to retention and providing postsecondary access and opportunity; Ability to work cooperatively with school/agency/institution personnel to assure academic success, program retention, postsecondary enrollment and completion; Excellent verbal/written communication skills; excellent organizational skills; computer literacy; Bachelors degree preferred in Education, Counseling, Higher Education, or related field; Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines; Ability to drive (license and car).
Experience with program management, staff development, grants and fiscal administration experience is welcome.
Recommended Skills Administration Attention To Detail Communication Computer Literacy Coordinating Leadership Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
