Job Overview:
The Worcester Art Museum seeks undergraduate and/or graduate students to apply for the Sandra D.
Rapp Internship.
The successful applicant will gain practical experience working with museum staff to assess and develop materials created to facilitate access to programs and installations for visitors with visual impairments.
Purpose:
To assist the Curatorial and Education Departments in optimizing materials for people with visual impairments to help fulfil the Museum's mission to connect people, communities, and cultures through the experience of art.
Such materials may include large print binders, mobile apps, and guided tours.
Duties/
Responsibilities:
Work with staff members to assess content and materials based on user feedback.
Format and assemble large-print binders for use in galleries throughout the Museum.
Attend meetings with staff members to review implementation and functionality.
Identify and order materials to ensure consistency.
Maintain production schedule for delivery of content.
Create and test prototypes.
Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Qualifications:
Undergraduate or graduate coursework in relevant fields (e.
g.
, museum studies, art history, museum accessibility, writing/literature, museum education).
Strong research, writing, and organizational skills.
Proficient in MS Office Suite; database knowledge preferred.
Previous museum experience.
