Treatment Advocate Full time 7p-7a includes every other weekend and holiday
The Treatment Advocate (TA) will assist with patient admissions, room transfers and discharges. The role will also support patients' daily activities/needs, provide 1:1 patient observation, comfort and transfers within the facility and encourage patient recovery. The TA shall be a dedicated, compassionate, and energetic individual who will serve a significant role of identifying and communicating patient needs and addressing them directly or in conjunction with nursing and other facility clinical staff.

Responsible for meeting new patients in the admissions area. Screens baggage in admission room. Allows patient to remove items needed for five days. Accurately records all patient belongings and valuables in the EMR on the Valuables List E-form. Secures patient valuables such as cash, cell phones in accordance with hospital policy. Assists the staff with skin checks.
Escorts and orients patient to the unit and to the hospital; educates patients on rules and schedules of the unit, provides education as requested by licensed personnel.
Performs a full range of patient safety duties including assisting licensed staff with full body evaluation, clothing and room searches, conducting face checks, dispensing/collecting razors, checking call lights and responding timely, assists in minimizing room clutter, patient monitoring during meals/group, physician rounds and on deck.
Assist patients with room and floor transfers and discharges; orients patient to new unit upon arrival including introduction to on duty staff. Assists discharged patient to the lobby; gathers all personal belongings as recorded on the patient valuables list.
Will assist licensed staff with ADL activities. This includes delivering meals to patients, turning, bathing, toileting and ambulating patients and providing fluids/nourishment between meals.
Provide adjunct care for the patient as directed by nursing team; 1:1 monitoring.
Adhere to professional standards, follow policies and procedures, and abide by federal, state, and local requirements, as well as Joint Commission standards.
Complete Safety checks per company policy.
Reports observations from direct patient care to licensed nurse to assure continued safety of all patients. Ensures patient compliance with fall risk objectives.
Maintains unit stock levels of supplies.
Treats patients, and colleagues with dignity and respect; honors each person's right to privacy/maintains very strict patient and colleague confidentiality; respects all individual differences; supports cultural diversity.
Consistently arrives to work on time and adheres to attendance policies.

Qualifications
Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent required
Basic computer skills
Ability to work as part of a team and to handle multiple tasks safely and effectively
Good communication skills, including the ability to communicate sensitive information with empathy (bedside manner)
Working knowledge of Google Office and EMR preferred
6 months experience with substance/psych desirable
Substance Abuse experience/knowledge preferred
All positions require a TST, MMR Titer, the ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening, and satisfactory criminal background records check.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
