Physician (Compensation and Pension)

Duties include but are not limited to:
Conduct forensic exams on Veterans for potential compensation. Receive and return official requests from Veterans Benefit Administration (VBA) regarding specific conditions to be medically evaluated for each Veteran. Completes all mandatory trainings and other trainings in TMS in a timely manner. All other duties as assigned. Work Schedule:

United States Citizenship:
Non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy. Education:
Degree of doctor of medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine. The degree must have been obtained from one of the schools approved by the Department of Veterans Affairs for the year in which the course of study was completed. License:
Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia. Residency:
Completion of residency training, or its equivalent, approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs in an accredited core specialty training program leading to eligibility for board certification. English Language Proficiency:
Physicians appointed to direct patient care positions must be proficient in spoken and written English as required by 38 U.S.C. 7402(d) and 7407(d). Preferred
Experience:
Board certification in internal medicine or family practice with at least 5 years of experience. References:
VA Regulations, specifically VA Handbook 5005, Part II, Appendix G-2 Physician Qualification Standard. This can be found in the local Human Resources Office. Physical Requirements:
Position is subject to a pre-employment physical and medical examination. This position requires:
Light lifting, under 25 pounds, light carrying, under 25 pounds; reaching above shoulder; use of fingers; walking (8 hours); standing (8 hours); repeated bending (1 hour); and hearing (aid permitted); working closely with others; working alone; protracted or irregular hours of work and occasional emotional strain.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
